Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Energy ,—(1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) date the Ceylon Electricity Board was incorporated;
(ii) total capital invested by the government in the CEB; and
(iii) total amount of short-term and long-term loans provided to CEB, separately;
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) of the number of permanent and casual employees working at CEB separately;
(ii) of the total monthly cost of salaries, overtime, professional allowances, bonuses, transport costs and any other emoluments paid to staff from January to December 2024 separately;
(iii) whether the CEB pays the PAYE tax for its staff; and
(iv) if not, of the date on which it ceased paying the PAYE tax?
(c) If not, why?
