Hon. Dewananda Suraweera,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House whether —
(i) he is aware that the case No. SC FR 55/2019 dated 13th February 2019 filed before the Supreme Court by petitioner Muthuthanthrige Nilanka Dilshan Cooray and four other petitioners against the Ministry of Health has been settled before the said parties;
(ii) the 1st petitioner has been admitted to study the Ayurveda Shastri course in the year 2019, as per the settlement concerned;
(iii) the petitioners numbers 2 to 5 have taken and completed their examinations; and
(iv) steps have been taken as of now by the Department of Ayurveda to commence the Ayurveda Shastri course?
(b) If not, why?
