    1. Hon. T.K. Jayasundara,—To ask the Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure,— (1)

      (a) Will he state —

      (i) whether he admits that the tea industry in Sri Lanka has been collapsing since 2010;

      (ii) of the institution which provided funds for the project ‘STARR’ which was implemented for re-cultivation of tea;

      (iii) of the total amount of funds provided for it;

      (iv) whether it is a loan or a grant;

      (v) if it is a loan, of the annual interest rate; and

      (vi) of the year in which the said loan will be paid off ?

      (b) Will he also state of the—

      (i) administrative structure of that project and the names of the persons who are involved in it;

      (ii) extent of land that tea has been re-cultivated through that project in each tea inspector’s division, separately; and

      (iii) amount paid per acre of land for re-cultivating tea under the project and the amount allocated for administrative expenses separately?

      (c) Will he further state—

      (i) if the said project has been completed by now, the date on which it was completed;

      (ii) if there are outstanding amounts payable to tea planters, the amounts payable as per each of the tea inspector’s divisions, separately; and

      (iii) whether the audit report on the project will be submitted?

      (d) If not, why?
