      Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Private Transport Services,—

      (a) Will he state—

      (i) the functions of the  Ministry of Private Transport; and

      (ii) the number of staff members attached to the Ministry?

      (b) Will he also state—

      (i) the total number of  private buses being operated in the country as of today;

      (ii) the number of private buses being operated with a proper registration;  

      (iii) the number of private buses being operated without a proper registration; and  

      (iv) the number of  private buses operated in the years 2000, 2003 and 2006 separately;

      (c) Will he inform this House on per year basis—

      (i) as to when the private bus fairs have been revised during the last 8 years ; and

      (ii) the increases of the bus fair approved during the aforesaid period?

      (d) If not, why?
