Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) unauthorized constructions have been carried out by certain residents of the ‘Manning Town’ housing scheme in contravention to the registered condominium plan;
(ii) reporting or removal of the aforesaid unauthorized constructions has been deliberately avoided by the management corporation of the aforesaid housing scheme ; and
(iii) the Condominium Management Authority does not check unauthorized constructions for removal as per the powers vested in it ?
(b) Will he inform this House whether he will take action to—
(i) direct the Condominium Management Authority to remove immediately the unauthorized constructions found at the ‘Manning Town’ housing scheme at present;
(ii) issue orders required to ensure proper upkeep of the management of condominium property, public utilities and public property of the aforesaid housing scheme through regular inspections by the said Authority; and
(iii) issue a common set of instructions to all management corporations stating that they should act in accordance with and under the provisions of Apartment Ownership Act ?
(c) If not, why ?
