      Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,— To ask the Minister of Health,—

      (a) Is he aware that—

      (i) the Bulathsinhala hospital does not have an adequate number of nurses, health management assistants, medical laboratory technicians, specialist doctors, sanitary labourers, clerks and ambulances; and

      (ii) the patients have become utterly helpless due to the aforesaid shortages ?

      (b) Will he state—

      (i) the number of patients who come to the Bulathsinhala hospital per day to obtain treatments;

      (ii) whether a report will be submitted regarding the aforesaid shortcomings ; and

      (iii) whether action will be taken to address all shortcomings in the aforesaid hospital to uplift the health standard of the people in the Bulathsinhala area ?

      (c) If not, why ?
