Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of State Resources and Enterprise Development,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the educational and professional qualifications of the person who held the post of Chairman in Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation from May 2010 to May 2012;
(ii) the salaries, allowances and other perks related to that position which were paid to him monthly; and
(iii) whether he had been obtaining a sum of Rs. 35,000.00 monthly by submitting false information to the effect that he had employed two household workers?
(b) Is he aware that—
(i) a prosperous cardamom cultivation of about 250 acres in the Opalgala Estate belonging to the Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation has been given to a private company by the name of “Sasiki” without publishing any public notice; and
(ii) the employees of the Corporation are levelling allegations that two jeeps bearing numbers 32-606 and 32-611 owned by the Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation have been sold in secret by the Chairman?
(c) If the vehicles mentioned in (b) (ii) above have been sold, will he inform this House of the names and addresses of the persons who purchased those vehicles and the prices at which they were sold?
(d) If not, why?
