Hon. (Mrs.) Rosy Senanayake,— To ask the Minister of Justice,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) the total number of juvenile delinquency cases and child abuse cases which have been brought before the courts of law from the year 2009 to 2012; and
(ii) separately out of those cases, the number of cases which are still being heard and the number of cases which have been concluded by now?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of individuals who were convicted and punished in juvenile delinquency and child abuse cases heard from the year 2009 up to now; and
(ii) of the maximum punishment meted out to those who are convicted in juvenile delinquency and child abuse cases?
(c) If not, why?
