Hon. E. Saravanapavan,— To ask the Minister of National Languages and Social Integration,—
(a) Will he state whether action will be taken in line with the statement made by him to the effect that stern action will be taken in the event of any violation of the language policy ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) if so, whether steps will be taken to ensure that copies of all the documents pertaining to promotions in the Sri Lanka Principles’ Service which are currently forwarded only in Sinhala language to the Principles of Tamil medium schools, will be sent to the relevant schools in Tamil language ; and
(ii) whether steps will be taken to direct the relevant institutions to respond in Tamil language itself instead of responding only Sinhala language when replying letters of request received from the beneficiaries of Employees’ Provident Fund in Tamil Language ?
(c) If not, why ?
