Hon. P. Harrison,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the programme which is prepared in order to cover the loss incurred by the Railway Department from the year 2005 to 2012;
(ii) whether the highest loss incurred by the Railway Department is caused by implementing long distance services or short distance services;
(iii) whether a decrease or an increase has been recorded in the usage of trains for the transportation of goods during the period from the year 2005 to 2012;
(iv) if a decrease has been recorded the reasons for it; and
(v) although the usage of trains for the transportation of fuel is a profitable method, the reasons for not using the said method for that purpose widely ?
If not, why ?
