Hon. Arundika Fernando,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) two writs of caveat imposed against a partitioning of land that could affect the land belonging to Mr. J.M.C. Rathnayake residing at No. 103, Kanuwana Estate, Kapala Kanda Road, Ja-Ela have been withdrawn upon intense pressure by Mr. Mahesh Perera, Superintendent of Police, Peliyagoda Division; and
(ii) the owner of the land to be partitioned came on 12.05.2012 to partition it with officers of the Army while the caveat was in effect ?
(b) Will he state—
(i) as to how the government security sections were deployed for a personal dispute such as the above one ; and
(ii) what action will be taken regarding the above incident and the complaints made to the secretary to the Ministry of Defence, the Inspector General of Police and the Criminal Investigations Department against the Superintendent of Police concerned ?
(c) Will he state the party that will take the responsibility for the harm that can be caused to Mr. J.M.C. Rathnayake, to any of the members of his family or to his property due to the threats made by the above Superintendent of Police pertaining to the surveying of the land concerned and any prejudice to Mr. Rathnayaka’s interests caused in the course of the survey under taken under pressure ?
(d) If not, why ?
