Hon. P. Harrison,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of Divisional Education Offices situated in the North Central Province; and
(ii) the number of permanent employees serving in each of the aforesaid divisional offices?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the minimum qualifications required for holding a post of Divisional Education Director;
(ii) of the number of officers in the North Central Province who have completed the aforesaid qualifications;
(iii) of the number of officers who have been appointed for the above post on acting basis to serve in the divisional education offices;
(iv) of the procedure adopted when appointing officers on acting basis;
(v) the accepted procedure to be adopted when filling a vacancy for a post of Divisional Education Director;
(vi) whether the aforesaid procedure has been adopted when granting the appointments mentioned above;
(vii) if so, as to how persons with less qualifications have been appointed to the above posts;
(viii) if unqualified persons who have been appointed to the above posts have obtained the allowances and payments entitled to the post, whether action will be taken to recover them; and
(ix) whether disciplinary action will be taken against the authorities who have made the payments to the aforesaid unqualified persons?
(c) If not, why?
