Hon.Buddhika Pathirana;— To ask the Minister of Livestock and Rural Community Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House of —
(i) the objectives and the role of the Plantation Human Development Trust which earlier came under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and is currently coming under the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development;
(ii) the number of houses provided to the people of the plantation sector by the aforesaid fund during the period from the year 1992 to 2005; and
(iii) the number of houses provided to the aforesaid people after 2005 to date?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that employees of the plantation sector level allegations that the activities implemented for the welfare of the aforesaid employees by the Plantation Human Development Trust which was established under the Ministry of Plantation Industries have come to a halt after transferring that Fund to the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development,
(ii) if so, whether immediate measures will be taken to remedy that situation and to recommence the welfare activities that were implemented by the Plantation Human Development Trust for the welfare of the employees of the plantation sector?
(c) If not, why?
