Hon. Buddhika Pathirana— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that the public is leveling allegations to the effect that paddy lands in the Kamburupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division are being filled;
(ii) of the extent of paddy land that has been filled without authorization in the aforesaid Divisional Secretariat Division from 2005 up to now;
(iii) whether complaints have been received against the aforesaid unauthorized land fillings;
(iv) if so, of the number of such complaints received;
(v) whether lawful action has been taken after carrying out investigations regarding such complaints; and
(vi) of the action that has been taken accordingly?
(b) Will he state—
(i) whether legal authorization has been obtained to fill paddy lands in the Kamburupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division from the year 2005 to date;
(ii) if so, the extent of paddy lands for which authorization has been granted for filling; and
(iii) the reasons for granting the opportunity to fill the aforesaid paddy lands?
(c) If not, why?
