      Hon.Buddhika Pathirana;— To ask the Minister of Culture and the Arts,—

      (a) Is he aware that—

      (i) ‘Garumuni Walawwa’ that belongs to the Central Cultural Fund and is located in the Balapitiya Divisional Secretary’s Division is a monument with an archeological value;

      (ii) the buildings belonging to that are in a very dilapidated condition at present; and

      (iii) the people  in the area complain that portions of the land belonging to that ‘Walawwa’ have been acquired by some people by force?

      (b) Will he inform this House—

      (i) whether he admits the fact that ‘Garumuni Walawwa’ can be converted into a source of income for the government after its buildings being renovated;

      (ii) if so, whether the renovation activities will be effected;

      (iii) whether financial provisions have been allocated for that;

      (iv) if so, the sum so allocated;

      (v) of the date the renovation activities will be commenced;

      (vi) whether arrangements will be made to evict those who have forcibly acquired lands belonging to the ‘Walawwa;’ and

      (vii) if so, the date it will be done?

      (c) If not, why?
