Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the acreage of lands available to the Sri Lanka Railway Department on district basis;
(ii) whether those lands are available for commercial development; and
(iii) if not, as to why those highly valuable lands are not being exploited for commercial purposes?
(b) Will he also state whether there is any land of Railway Department that has been given to the private sector or any other private company?
(c) Will he inform this House if there are lands given as of (b) above, separately, on per land basis—
(i) the extent of Land given in perches or acres;
(ii) the price;
(iii) the time period that it has been given for;
(iv) the nature of the transaction (solicited or unsolicited);
(v) the person to whom it has been given; and
(vi) the purpose it is being used for?
(d) If not, why?
