Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minster of Livestock and Rural Community Development,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) the number of cows that have been bought from local and overseas during the last 3 years on per year basis;
(ii) the price of one cow bought from overseas;
(iii) the normal price of an aforesaid cow;
(iv) the total cost per cow brought from origin to destination farm;
(v) the country from which they were purchased;
(vi) the reason for selecting that country for the purchase of cows;
(vii) whether the aforesaid purchasing has been done through a proper tender procedure; and
(viii) if not, the basis on which those purchases has been done?
(b) If not, why?
