Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Mr. A. Piyal Hemantha residing at Lanumodara, Habaraduwa is a police officer who has served in different areas of the island after joining the Police Service on 15.01.1991;
(ii) he was serving attached to the Peliyagoda Police Station in the Kelaniya Division from the year 2010;
(iii) he is an officer who has even received gifts of money appreciating various talents he has shown during his tenure;
(iv) as a result of the coma status that he underwent for several months owing to a snake bite that he experienced on 13.04.2011 after returning home after duty he has failed to report for duty or break to inform about his sickness to the working place; and
(v) an order for vacation of post has been issued under that circumstance considering him as a person who has vacated the post with effect from 14.05.2011?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether action will be taken to reinstate Mr. Hemantha in service considering the fact that he had been a talented police officer when he was serving in the police; and
(ii) if so, what that date is?
(c) If not, why?
