Hon.Sujeewa Senasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Investment Promotion,—
(a) Will he state separately, for each year for the period from the year 2005 to 2011—
(i) the total number of garment factories that have been registered under the Board of Investment;
(ii) the number of factories that have been closed down out of them;
(iii) the total number of employment opportunities prevailed in the garment industry sector;
(iv) the amount of foreign exchange earned through garment exports;
(v) the percentage of Sri Lanka’s garment export market share in United States of America; and
(vi) that percentage of market share in the European Union?
(b) If not, why?
