Hon. Eran Wickramaratne,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether computers were distributed to schools under the Education for Knowledge Society Project (EKSP); and
(ii) if so, the number of schools to which computers were distributed under the aforesaid project?
(b) Will he state as of December 2012—
(i) the number of computers purchased under the EKSP project;
(ii) the names of the suppliers to whom the contracts were awarded for the purchase of computers;
(iii) the number of computers purchased under each contract awarded; and
(iv) the price paid to the supplier/suppliers under each contract awarded?
(c) Will he also state—
(i) the body responsible for selecting computer suppliers for the EKSP project;
(ii) the method adopted to evaluate the suppliers in the selection process; and
(iii) whether the selected suppliers satisfied the criteria stipulated in the selection process?
(d) If not, why?
