Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) whether the Department of Public Trustee, provides scholarships for the education of school and university students of low income families;
(ii) if so, the number of scholarships that have been given from the year 2013 to 2014 up to now; and
(iii) the amount of money received by a student per month?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) how to apply for the aforesaid scholarships;
(ii) the methodology that is used to select the students to award the aforesaid scholarships; and
(iii) whether the money given under the scholarship are given monthly to those students?
(c) If not, why?
