Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Power and Energy,—
(a) Will she state—
(i) the number of coal power plants that are in operation in Sri Lanka at present;
(ii) the names of those power plants;
(iii) the number of new coal power plants that have been proposed to be built;
(iv) the locations in which the aforesaid power plants will be established;
(v) the methodology that will be adopted to acquire land that is required for the aforesaid construction activities;
(vi) the number of units of electricity that is generated by the Norochcholai coal power plant at present; and
(vii) the aforesaid amount as a percentage of the total energy requirement of Sri Lanka?
(b) If not, why?
