Hon. Susantha Punchinilame,— To ask the Minister of Internal Transport,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Mr. Vijith Dharmasena, Depot Manager of the Sri Lanka Transport Board's Trincomalee Depot, who worked to enhance its income through an excellent administration, has been verbally abused with filthy words and chased away from his place of work; and
(ii) this verbal abuse and chasing away have been exerted for political reasons by the intervention of a Minister whose portfolio does not encompass the subject of transport?
(b) Will he advise the House on—
(i) whether justice will be accorded to the Depot Manager so affected by holding a Ministry level inquiry with regard to the incident referred to above;
(ii) the number of Sri Lanka Transport Board Depot Managers who have been kept away from their places of work through acts of coercion, intimidation or other methods and later removed from their posts treating them to have vacated posts;
(iii) their names, addresses and telephone numbers and the depots in which they had been serving; and
(iv) the steps that have been taken already with regard to these callous acts of injustice and those to be taken in future?
(c) If not, why?
