      Hon.Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—

      (a) Will he inform this House—

      (i) whether he admits the fact that a National Executive Council was established by the government which came into power after 08th  January 2015;

      (ii) the objectives of the National  Executive Council;

      (iii) the names of the members of it;

      (iv) the basis on which they were appointed;

      (v) the appointing authority of the aforesaid appointments; and

      (vi) the provisions of the Constitution or any other law in the country under which the  aforesaid members were appointed?

      (b) Will he also inform this House—

      (i) the number of times that National  Executive Council  convened ;

      (ii) the decisions taken at the aforesaid  meetings;

      (iii) the actions taken to implement the decisions taken by the National Executive Council; and

      (iv) whether the aforesaid council is still operative?

      (c) Will  he state—

      (i) whether the National Executive Council is vested with power to issue orders  to the  police to arrest any citizen; and

      (ii) if so, the law under which it can be done?

      (d) Will he also state whether he accepts the fact that  National Executive             Council is an illegal political tool established for insulting the political             leaders?

      (e) If not, why ?
