Hon. Prasanna Ranatunga,— To ask the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of graduates who sat for the examination conducted by the Western Provincial Council in 2011 to give teaching appointments to the graduates;
(ii) the number of graduates who passed the examination;
(iii) whether appointments have been given to every person who passed the examination; and
(iv) if not, why?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the number of graduates who sat for the examination conducted by the Western Provincial Council on 27.12.2014 to recruit graduates to the teaching service;
(ii) the number of graduates who passed the examination;
(iii) the number of appointments given by now;
(iv) if appointments have not been given the reason for that; and
(v) the date on which the appointments will be given?
(c) Will he state—
(i) whether he is aware that Development Officer Appointments in the Western Provincial Council were given to those who did not acquire necessary qualifications in the examination mentioned in above (a) (i) to get teaching appointments;
(ii) whether steps will be taken to recruit the graduates, who did not pass the above (b) (i) examination, as Development Officers in the Government Institutions in the Western Provincial Council; and
(iii) if not, why?
(d) If not, why?
