Hon.Vijitha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether sufficient financial allocations have been issued to Divisional Secretariats for Senior Citizens’ Allowances for the year 2016;
(ii) what amount was issued for the year 2015; and
(iii) what amount is to be issued for the year 2016?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether the allowance concerned will be provided to all the senior citizens who have applied for it;
(ii) if not, whether any restrictions have been placed;
(iii) if so, why; and
(iv) if no restriction has been made, whether he will take action to provide sufficient allocations and grant this allowance for all the senior citizens who have applied for it?
(c) If not, why?
