Hon. (Mrs.) Hirunika Premachandra,— To ask the Minister of Petroleum Resources Development,—
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) 1491 employees of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation lost their jobs in the year 2002;
(ii) those employees lost their jobs due to volunteer retirement; and
(iii) justice has not been served to those employees so far despite that the Supreme Court has finished the hearing of the case filled by the former Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation against the ruling given by the Court of Appeal in the year 2010 to the effect that those employees be reinstated?
(b) Will he inform this House whether action will be taken to serve justice to the aforesaid employees?
(c) If not, why?
