Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,- To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he admit that—
(i) beer companies sponsor the annual cricket matches (big matches) held between popular schools;
(ii) beer companies carry out their publicity work during the aforesaid matches; and
(iii) school students are tempted to use narcotics through this?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the Ministry has recommended the methodologies and criteria to be followed in selecting sponsors for annual cricket matches (big matches) held between schools;
(ii) if so, what the aforesaid methodologies and criteria are; and
(iii) if not, whether action will be taken to recommend methodologies and criteria for that?
(c) Will he also inform this house—
(i) whether he will take measures to stop propaganda on narcotics associated with matches; and
(ii) if so, what the aforesaid measures are?
(d) If not, why?
