Hon. Prasanna Ranaweera,— To ask the Minister of Disaster Management,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) the number of persons to whom the allowance of Rs.10,000/- which the government promised to give to the persons affected by the flood situation that seriously affected Kollonnawa, Kelaniya, Kaduwela, Hanwella and Biyagama Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the month of May 2016 has been given by now;
(ii) the amount of money that has been spent for this by now;
(iii) the criteria that is used to grant aid;
(iv) the number of persons who have qualified to get aid; and
(v) whether the persons who reside in the houses that have been obtained by them on rent, lease or temporary basis are given this financial assistance?
(b) Will he also inform his House—
(i) whether the financial and material aid which was said to be given by countries such as United States of America and Japan to provide relief to the persons affected by the floods has been received by the country by now;
(ii) if so, the amount of financial aid received along with the value of the material aid received, separately;
(iii) whether the aforesaid aid has been given to people; and
(iv) if so, the number of persons who have received the aforesaid aid?
(c) If not, why?
