Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka,— To ask the Minister of Plantation Industries,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the total number of ‘Tea Shakthi’ tea factories that function in various parts of the country;
(ii) separately on per year basis from the beginning to date, of the number of employees working at each factory, the quantity of tea produced in kilograms and the profit generated or the loss incurred by each factory; and
(iii) of the methodology adopted in managing those factories at present?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) of the name of the institute which is presently in charge of the management of ‘Tea Shakthi’ tea factory of Raigam Korale;
(ii) of the relief provided to those who lost their employment with the aforesaid tea factory; and
(iii) of the reasons as to why a maximum production was not gone into using the machinery belonging to that factory?
(c) If not, why?
