Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the amount of Rs.1,600 million allocated by budget 2016 under the programme “Introducing modern technology for small and medium scale fisheries industry” has been received by your Ministry for the implementation of the aforesaid projects;
(ii) if so, whether the aforesaid funds have been disbursed for the above projects; and
(iii) of the projects for which funds have been disbursed?
(b) Will he also inform this house-
(i) of the programmes which have been implemented for the fishermen in the area of Negambo, where fishing industry is prominent in the District of Gampaha;
(ii) whether the average monthly income of the fishermen has been increased through that;
(iii) if so, in which manner is that?
(c) If not, why?
