Hon. Vasudeva Nanayakkara,—To ask the Minister of Ports and Shipping,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether the Sri Lanka Ports Authority recruited 175 individuals on 09.01.2014 and 01.07.2014 for a 3 year period of employment and another 14 individuals on 14.11.2014 without any specific period of employment and 02 women and 03 men on 20.10.2016 as multi skilled trainees; and
(ii) whether they have been informed that they are entitled for 7 casual leave and 14 medical leave, annually?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he accepts the fact that an oral examination was held in July 2015 on the instructions of the Minister and 30 people appeared in that and they were called for interviews; and
(ii) whether the Minister had called 95 individuals for security division and 120 and 600 individuals for interviews later on and granted them with Work Assistant / Clerk appointments, in contravention to the director board decision dated 16.06.2016 although the same specifies that all vacancies should be filled with trainees?
(c) If not, why?
