      Hon Dullas Alahapperuma,—To ask the Minister of Higher Education and Highways,— 

      (a) Will he inform this House—

      (i) whether a policy decision has been taken to reduce the opportunities that existed for the Sri Lankan students to study for external degree courses;

      (ii) separately, the number of male and female students who have been approved to be enrolled for the external degree courses in 2016;

      (iii) separately, the number of students who passed the GCE(A/L) and got qualified for the University entrance in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and the number of students who were admitted to Universities;

      (iv) separately, the number of students who are studying in Foreign Universities that are functioning in Sri  Lanka in 2014, 2015 and 2016 in respect of each year separately;

      (v) the degree courses followed by the students mentioned in above (iv) separately;

      (vi) the number of students who follow  each of the aforesaid degree courses separately; and

      (vii) if answers are not given for the above (v) and (vi) the reason for that?

      (b) If not, why?
