Hon. Bandula Gunawardana,—To ask the Minister of Higher Education and Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) as per proposal No. 185 of the 2016 budget, separately the names of State Universities to which Wi-Fi facilities were extended and the dates on which the students of those universities started enjoying such facilities;
(ii) the total cost incurred by the government for the provision of the above digitalization facilities within the state university system;
(iii) the Ministry or the institution to which it was charged;
(iv) whether the government has a specific programme regarding the provision of laptop computers to all students studying in the State University System; and
(v) if so, what that programme is?
(b) If not, why?
