Hon. Bandula Gunawardana,—To ask the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether an organization called “ Agency for Development” was set up with the aim of encouraging foreign direct investments as per proposal No.195 of the budget for 2016;
(ii) if so, of the composition and structure of responsibilities of it;
(iii) whether he would submit a document stating the total foreign investments received by Sri Lanka from 1977 up to now, foreign direct investments including the loans taken by the investors and foreign direct investments received without loans, as per each year;
(iv) whether he would submit data and a graph indicating the manner in which foreign direct investments increased in Sri Lanka subsequent to the end of war in 2009 and the five main countries from which foreign direct investments flowed into the country, in the order of priority; and
(v) of the reasons for the decline in foreign direct investments comparatively in 2015 and 2016?
(b) If not, why?
