Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,—To ask the Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) the extent of lands that exist as barren and agricultural lands out of the lands with forest cultivation in Matale district that comes under the purview of Land Reform Commission and the lands of which the control and management have been vested in the Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation and Janatha Estate Development Board by gazette Notifications, in terms of the provisions of Land Reform Act, No. 1 of 1972;
(ii) whether such lands have been surveyed and identified;
(iii) whether there is a programme in place to utilize aforesaid lands in an effective manner; and
(iv) whether there is any possibility of utilizing aforesaid lands to grant the legal obligations of the individuals who declared the lands with the Land Reforms Commission and for non agricultural affairs?
(b) If not, why?
