Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that
(i) the appointment letter of the civil appointees of Sri Lanka Army Hospital who are engaged in Civil tasks, states that they are governed by the provisions of the Establishment Code;
(ii) however these employees work unlimited hours per day owing to service requirements;
(iii) overtime payment or other allowances are not paid, even if they work for an additional period of time: and
(iv) however, overtime not exceeding 100 hours per month, is paid for the civil employees who work in army camps?
(b) Will he inform this House whether measures will be taken to pay overtime even for the group who were disentitled in aforesaid manner?
(c) If not why?
