Hon. J. M. Ananda Kumarasiri,—To ask the Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Mr. D.M. Jayatissa of Kaduruwelena, Okkampitiya joined the Sri Lanka Police in 1983 and served in it under official number පො.කො. 5439;
(ii) he served in Ampara and Baticaloa areas for 9 years in the Police Special Task Force; and
(iii) the order made by the Committee on Public Petitions of Parliament following submissions being made to it regarding his dismissal from Police Service in 1994 on a false charge that he be reinstated, was not implemented and the other order that he be reinstated with salary arrears after the Committee deciding that an injustice has been caused to him upon the consideration of 3 more petitions submitted by him regarding the non implementation of the order of the Committee was not implemented?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he admits that the failure to implement the order made by the Committee on 3 occasions that he be reinstated, is a grave injustice caused to him; and
(ii) whether steps will be taken to reinstate Mr. Jayatissa by implementing the order given by the Committee on Public Petitions?
(c) If not, why?
