      Hon. Kanaka Herath,— To ask the Minister of Plantation Industries,—

      (a) Will he inform this House—

      (i) of the number of families that depended on the Rubber small holder industry in Sri Lanka in 2014, 2015 and 2016, separately;

      (ii) the number of such families that dropped in 2016 compared to 2014;

      (iii) the measures the government adopts to enhance the quality of life of persons who lost their livelihood due to not cultivating rubber;

      (iv) whether steps would be taken to re-cultivate rubber in abandoned lands; and

      (v) if so, the date on which it will be done?

      (b) If not, why?
