Hon. Kanaka Herath,— To ask the Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of apprentices trained during the past two years;
(ii) of the number of apprentices who have been trained in the sector of Construction and Industry
(iii) of the number who have been provided with employment out of the aforesaid number;
(iv) whether the number that has been trained in the sector of Construction and Industry during the past two years is adequate to address the demand of the labour force; and
(v) if not, whether steps will be taken to increase the number of apprentices recruited?
(b) If not, why?
