Hon. Douglas Devananda,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) 23 tractors and 08 hand tractors belonging to the Department of Agrarian Development have been left idle without any maintenance or without making any use at the Poonakary Agrarian Services Center in the Killinochchi District; and
(ii) the aforesaid tractors have been left in the open for four years without any protection?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether steps have been taken to repair the aforesaid tractors and to put them to use;
(ii) if so, of the period of time that will be taken to repair those tractors and of the manner in which they will be utilized after been repaired; and
(iii) if not, whether there is possibility of repairing those tractors and distributing them among farmer organizations at reasonable prices?
(c) If not, why?
