      Hon. S. Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs,—

      (a) Is he aware — 

      (i) of the Paravipanjan area situated in the Killinochchi Town Grama Niladhari Division in the Kilinochchi District;

      (ii) that resettlement activities in that area are yet to be completed;

      (iii) that, after a long time, people were, step by step, resettled in that area, which was under military control;

      (iv) that, it has been informed by the President that the lands belonging to the people living in this area will be released from the control of the military and will be given to those people;

      (v) that, an extent of lands of 17.2 acres is yet to be released; and

      (vi) that, for this reason, 56 families to whom those lands belong have been rendered destitute because they do not have any other place to settle in?

      (b) Will he inform this House —

      (i) whether those lands have been completely released as informed by the President;

      (ii) of the date on which the lands that are in extent of 17.2 acres will be released;

      (iii) of the date on which action will be taken to resettle the 56 families referred to in (a)(vi) above; and

      (iv) of the nature of the action that has been taken in that regard?

      (c) If not, why?
