Hon. Douglas Devananda,—To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) over four hundred students are studying up to the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) at Kalaimagal Tamil Vidyalaya in Matugama Educational Zone of Kalutara district;
(ii) a foundation stone was laid two months before to develop this school under the “The Nearest School is the Best School” programme?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the date on which the development work mentioned in a (ii) above will be commenced;
(ii) whether the arrangements have been made to commence General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) classes in the said school;
(iii) if so, the date on which those classes will be commenced?
(c) If not, why?
