Hon. I. Charles Nirmalanathan,— To ask the Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the district office of the Superintendent of Posts in the Mullaitivu district was closed during the period of war;
(ii) though all the other offices have been recommenced after the resettlement was started, this office has not been recommenced up to date;
(iii) this has caused great inconvenience to the people in the Mullaitivu district since they have to get the service of the district post office in Vavuniya, which was about 100 km away, to present their problems related to the post; and
(iv) a written request dated 07.07.2017 was made by me to re-open this office?
(b) If so, will he inform this House whether action will be taken forthwith to recommence the district office of the Superintendent of Posts?
(c) If not, why?
