Hon. Hector Appuhamy,—To ask the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of islands to which electricity has been provided by Ceylon Electricity Board;
(ii) of the total number of electricity consumers in each of those islands;
(iii) of the level of efficiency in recovering electricity bills in those islands;
(iv) whether there is any possibility of utilizing solar power or wind power for generating electricity for those islands instead of using diesel power plants; and
(v) if so, of the names of islands in which such sources of energy are utilized?
(b) If not, why?
