Presentation of Reports under Standing Order No. 52(6) of the Parliament
The Report under Standing Order 52(6) of the Parliament on the Bill entitled “Provincial Councils Elections (Amendment)” was presented by the Hon. Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
Presentation of Reports from the Committees
The Report of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Energy was presented by the Hon. Kumara Jayakody, Member of Parliament, the Chair of the Committee.

House agreed to the following Motion moved by the Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament,
Ministerial Consultative Committees
That notwithstanding the provisions of the Standing Order 112 of Parliament, and as per the motion agreed to by Parliament on 19th of March 2025, instead of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation and the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Urban Development, Construction and Housing approved by Parliament on the 06th of December 2024, the following Ministerial Consultative Committees be appointed:—
1. Ministerial Consultative Committee on Transport, Highways and Urban Development;
2. Ministerial Consultative Committee on Ports and Civil Aviation; and
3. Ministerial Consultative Committee on Housing, Construction and Water Supply.
Main Business of the House for Today
(i) Appropriation Bill (2026) - Committee (Tenth Allotted Day)
(appearing as Item No. 1 of today’s Order Paper)
(ii) Select Committee of Parliament to look into and Report to Parliament on the release of 323 Containers from the Port of Colombo without undergoing mandatory physical inspection and submit its proposals and recommendations in that regard (appearing as Item No. 2 of today’s Order Paper)
was approved by the House.
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Converting dedicated economic centres to limited companies” was proposed by the Hon. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Member of Parliament.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1902 Hrs. until 0900 Hrs. on Thursday 20th November 2025.
