The Committee on High Posts approves the appointments of 06 new Ambassadors and a High Commissioner, 02 Ministry Secretaries and a Chairman of a Statutory Body

The Committee on High Posts which met recently in the Parliament has given its approval for the appointment of six new Ambassadors, a High Commissioner, two Ministry Secretaries and a Chairman of a statutory body.   

Accordingly, the Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of Mrs. S.A.P.P. Seram as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Indonesia and Mrs. R.S.K Azard as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the State of Qatar.

Also, the appointments of the Mrs. S.K. Gunasekara as the Sri Lankan ambassador to the Russian Federation and Mr. A.S.K. Senaviratne as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, have been recommended by the Committee on High Posts.

The committee has also approved the appointments of Mr. N.M Shaheed as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mrs. Y.K. Gunasekara as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain and Mr. S.P Walpita Gamage as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to New Zealand.

In addition to that, the recommendation of the Committee on High Posts has been given for the appointment of Mr. B.K.P Chandrakirthi as the Secretary to the Ministry of Environment and the appointment of Mr. S Weerasinghe as the Secretary to the Ministry of Industry.

Furthermore, the Committee on High Posts has also recommended the appointment of Dr. D.T.K Bernard as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
