Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara,— To ask the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the government approved amount that is charged on a unit of domestic water at present;
(ii) the number of instances of water tariff revision from 2015 up to date;
(iii) whether he will mention the revised prices in relation to each such instance; and
(iv) the date when the tariff of a unit of water was revised last and the amount that way increased or decreased at that time?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the profit earned by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board last year;
(ii) whether the government has decided to increase water tariff in future;
(iii) if so, the methodology of increasing water tariff; and
(iv) whether he will state the reasons if water tariff is increased?
(c) If not, why?
