Hon. Padma Udayashantha Gunasekara,— To ask the Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) separately, in respect of years 2015, 2016 and 2017 the quantities of rice imported to Sri Lanka;
(ii) the taxes levied from a kilogram of rice in the import of rice;
(iii) accordingly, the total amount of money spent on the import of rice in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017;
(iv) the total amount of taxes levied in the import of rice during the aforesaid years; and
(v) whether he will submit a comprehensive report on the fluctuation of the price of rice during the said years?
(b) If not, why?
