      Hon. Chandima Gamage,— To ask the Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms,—

      (a) Is he aware that—

      (i) the Padaviya district hospital, villages, temples and community hall are situated in the area from Padaviya town to Kahatagollewa (Area to the left of the main road) although it had been gazetted as a sanctuary;

      (ii) the people have been living in that area from year 1957;

      (iii) several residents even possess land permits;

      (iv) declaration of the area as a wildlife zone has become an obstacle when others attempt to obtain land permits; and

      (v) the persons who have been residing in the Padaviya town for so many years are facing immense difficulties owing to this situation?

      (b) Will he inform this House—

      (i) whether measures will be taken to provide land permits to the persons who are living in those lands without land permits; and

      (ii) if so, the date?

      (c) If not, why?
